GOOD NEWS| Faculty and Student Works from SCUCA Featured at 2025 Chengdu International Photography Festival

Recently, the 2025 3rd Chengdu International Photography Week opened with full ceremony in Chengdu. Works by faculty and students from the School of Digital Media, Sichuan University of Culture and Arts, were officially selected for the festival’s “Mirror of Convergence—All Things Intersect” section, spotlighting the school’s solid output in digital-image creation and pedagogical practice.

Organised under the guidance of the Sichuan Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Publicity Department of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee, and supported by the Sichuan Photographers Association, the week-long event—co-hosted by the Chengdu Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Chengdu Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism—launched on 16 December. Positioned as an internationally influential imaging-arts platform, this edition centres on the theme “Mirror of Convergence—All Things Intersect,” drawing leading photographic artists and institutions from China and abroad.

Works by Vice Dean Zhu Tingting of the School of Digital Media, programme lead Niu Dongdong of the Digital Media Arts major, and third-year student Yin Jiaxin rose to the top of a highly competitive call-for-entry pool. Zhu’s “Ox-Head Mountain on the Shu Path” probes the human-and-natural fabric of Shu region topography; Niu, exhibiting as an invited artist, presents “Recomposing Boundaries,” a contemporary visual meditation on spatial form; Yin’s “Tang Palace Twilight, Lantern-Shadow Chang’an” fuses classical iconography with digital articulation, foregrounding emergent creative energy. Shown side-by-side, the three pieces demonstrate both faculty leadership and measurable student advancement in artistic production.

The selection not only recognises individual practice but also evidences the School’s integrated model of instruction and application. Committed to “classroom leadership, practice enablement,” the school fortifies traditional photographic craft while actively embedding digital technologies in artistic workflows, dispatching faculty and students into society for lived experience and cultivating both technical mastery and cultural self-awareness through real-world commissions.
