Recently, the results of the "Outstanding Young Screenplay Selection" segment of the Beijing International Film Festival · College Student Film Festival were officially announced. An original feature film screenplay crafted by Wang Jiahao, a 2023 undergraduate majoring in Theatre, Film and Television Literature at the School of Digital Film and Television of our university, has stood out prominently from nearly 1,100 submissions nationwide and secured a place in the final shortlist, which comprises only 50 works.

Founded in 1993, the Beijing International Film Festival · College Student Film Festival is widely recognized as one of the earliest-established and most influential university film and cultural brands in China, playing a pivotal role in nurturing young film talents and promoting the development of youth film creation.

This shortlisting not only showcases the excellent professional creative capabilities of our students but also reflects the university’s sustained dedication and remarkable achievements in cultivating innovative talents in the film and television sector.

Wang Jiahao’s creative process has been strongly underpinned by the university’s high-quality professional resources. During his academic journey, he accumulated valuable practical experience through the university’s stage play projects and laid a solid foundation in practical courses such as dramatic creation and stage production and broadcasting. The conception of the screenplay spanned a full year, and he received meticulous guidance from professional tutors during the creative phase, which provided crucial support for the successful completion and refinement of the work.
