Recently, the 2026 Chengdu International Development Conference and World Mayor Dialogue · Chengdu Series Events kicked off in Chengdu. Mayors from over 20 countries and regions across the globe, along with distinguished industry leaders and representatives from government and business circles at home and abroad, assembled in Chengdu to establish a high-end platform for international exchange and collaboration.

Li Chenjie, Dean of the College of Digital Music Industry, was invited to the conference. Representing Sichuan University of Culture and Arts, he proactively engaged with premium global resources and strengthened ties with industry peers. He explored cooperation opportunities in key fields such as digital copyright operation of pop music, original music incubation and artist talent development. Throughout the event, Dean Li took an active part in government-enterprise seminars and industry resource matching sessions. He exchanged insights and held cooperation talks with participants on a range of pivotal topics: the growth of the digital cultural and creative industry, application of artificial intelligence, innovation in digital performance, new formats of cultural tourism, as well as digital copyright protection and operation for pop music, incubation and promotion of original music works, and grooming of emerging artists.

Capitalizing on the conference’s platform strengths, the School of Digital Music Industry will further scale up university-enterprise cooperation in both scope and depth and expand career pathways for students. It covers diverse specialty sectors including performance art, cultural creativity, digital music, digital media, pop music copyright operation, original music production and artist brokerage and incubation. The School will build a premium platform for students’ internship, practical training, employment and entrepreneurship, precisely meeting the market demands of the digital economy and cultural and creative industries.

Engagement in World Mayor Dialogue Showcases the University’s Global Vision

At the World Mayor Dialogue Forum, more than 20 global mayors engaged in in-depth deliberations on urban cultural development, sci-tech industrial upgrading, international cultural and artistic exchanges, and cross-field integrated development.

Serving as both Global Ambassador of Asti, Italy, and a senior educator of Chinese higher education, Dean Li contributed to the discussions. Rooted in the University’s unique strengths in art education, he closely followed the integration trend of digital technology, culture and art. Taking advantage of the international city dialogue, he connected extensively with top-tier global resources in culture, art and education, striving to build a solid bridge for international cultural and artistic exchanges, cross-border university-enterprise cooperation, and overseas study and practice for faculty and students. This effort injects fresh impetus into the University’s international development.
